...to a beautiful shot I found, again from Puerto Rico. The picture is taken from up on El Yunque mountain, in the tropical rain forest, looking down toward the north coast and beach. El Yunque was another place I loved going as a child. The waterfalls, mists, enormous ferns, and cool towers to climb were all great, and then our family would usually take a picnic lunch and eat it in one of the shelters on the mountain. Fond memories.

I love that photo. I remember being there so many years ago. It is the isla bonita.
I remember looking out at Luquillo Beach while we were up on El Yunque...knowing that we would be there in just short while. Those were such great Saturdays, weren't they?
I loved taking those trips up the mountain and then down to the beach. I remember that the big discussion was often "do we eat lunch up here or down there?" I think we usually ate lunch up in the rainforest where it was cool and misty. Then down to the beach, and occasionally Dad would spring for ice-cold coconuts to drink!
